Everything FlyCue does

Two views — the plot and the cues — plus the rig display, the sync, the remotes and the paperwork that hold a show together around them.

01 — The plot

Line sets

Bar number, scenic element and a type — House Curtain, Border, Leg, Tabs, Backdrop, Cyclorama, Traveller, Lighting, Audio, Empty.

Weight & WLL

Record item weight against the working load limit for that set. Anything over the limit shows up in red on the plot.

Colour coding

Sensible defaults by scenic type — legs, borders, cyc, drops — then a full picker with a curated palette if you want your own. Colours carry through to the cues, the rig view and the paperwork.

Distance to setting line

Keep the upstage/downstage geography of the rig with the rest of the data, and sort the plot by it.

Dead positions

As many intermediate trims per bar as you need — Dead 1, Dead 2 — each with its own height and colour, called by name in a cue instead of re-describing a height every time.

Notes & warnings

Two ops on the rail, slow out, confirm rigging method, check clearance — the things that never make it onto a spreadsheet.

Show picture / logo

Upload an image to sit on the printed paperwork header.

PDF hanging-plot import

Upload the venue's own line-set schedule as a PDF and FlyCue parses the table — bars, items, weights, distances — straight into the plot. No retyping a house rig you didn't build.

CSV in and out

Export the plot, the cues or both. Import auto-detects which one a file is from its header row. Both are the Admin's to run — an import can overwrite everything.

My Venues

Save a house's line sets as a reusable rig, typed or read out of its PDF, and recall it whenever a production goes back in. Shareable across a House licence, so the resident crew maintains the house layout once and every visiting show sees it.

Printable flying plot

Landscape or portrait, with your show credits in the header.

02 — The cues

Call the show, cue by cue

A cue stack that behaves the way a fly floor actually works — including when you go back.

Editing a cue — three bar moves, each with its own speed and operator

Standby, then GO

The standby bar shows the cue that's next and every bar it moves, so the operator sees what's coming before it comes.

Moves, not rows

One cue can carry any number of bar moves. Each has a bar, an action (IN / OUT / a named dead), a speed and an operator.

Scene, moment and notes

"Midway through Getting Out of Town", "Wait for the flat and lounge to come on before the ¼ tabs" — the calling context lives with the cue.

Dividers and holding slides

Section headers for House Open, Act 1, Act 2 and any scene break — plus explicit holding slides where the show pauses, so the interval is a thing in the stack rather than a gap in it.

BACK that tracks

Step backwards and the rig state steps back with you — no mental arithmetic about which bars are where.

Presets

Mark an act preset so the state at the top of each act is explicit rather than remembered.

Sort and reorder

Drag cues to reorder, or insert where they belong and put the stack back in order with Sort by Cue #.

Go to cue, without skipping

Jump to cue 14 and FlyCue runs the stack forward to get there, applying every move on the way. The rig state is what it would be if you'd fired them all.

Cue display, your way

Identify each move by bar number, by scenic item, or both — in the list and in Fullscreen Mode.

03 — Rig view

The whole rig, at any point in the show

Every line set drawn between OUT and IN, showing where it sits after any number of cues. Set the home positions first — the legs, the masking, the smother that are dead in before anyone arrives — and the drawing stays honest however much you jump around.

Show Mode — editing locked for the run

Show Mode

Editing locked. The stack still moves — anyone signed in can fire GO and BACK — but nobody can change a cue mid-run.

Colour that survives a dark wing

Custom bar colours render as a muted field with the colour as bright accent text, not a saturated block. Legible at distance without burning anyone's night vision.

Kiosk mode for a wallboard

Join a spare monitor by code with no account and it lands in a locked Fullscreen display — the current cue, live, and nothing anyone walking past can touch.

Anyone can call it

Any signed-in operator can fire GO and BACK — the stage manager from the corner, or the fly floor on their own cue. Everyone lands on the same cue.

05 — Sync & crew

Everyone on the same cue

Share the show code with every phone, iPad or computer that should track along live. Cue changes and GO/BACK sync instantly to everyone connected.

Four roles, granted per show

The Admin starts the show, manages people and runs any import. Editors build and run it. Operators fire GO and BACK and print their own sheet. Viewers watch. Every role is per show — Admin on yours means nothing on anyone else’s.

Join by code

Anyone with a FlyCue account can be added to the show as an operator with its six-digit code — read it out over comms and they're on. Or invite by email and they set their own password.

Custom show code

Rename the show's six-digit code to something easy to read out over comms.

Button Mode link

A link that opens straight into the GO/BACK remote, with the operator login already embedded. Save it to a phone's home screen.

My Shows dashboard

Every production on one list with its Admin and join code beside it — one click to switch, and a box to add someone else's show by code.

Show credits

Director, designer, head mechanist, mechanists, fly supervisors, fly operator, automation operator, venue, dates, company — printed on the paperwork header.

Download Show File

Plot, cues, colours, show details, picture — the whole show as a single file on your computer.

Load Show File…

Open it on any other device and pick up exactly where you left off. No account, no internet.

Print Flying Plot

Landscape or portrait, credits in the header.

Print Fly Cue Sheet

Everyone's moves, or one operator's — cues with nothing for them are left off.

06 — Offline & paperwork

No signal, no problem

Venue Wi-Fi is not a dependency. FlyCue runs entirely local — save the show to a file, carry it on a USB stick, load it on the next machine.

And when someone wants it on paper — a producer, a visiting crew, the show file, the wall by the lock rail — print the flying plot and the fly cue sheet straight from the app.

07 — Paperwork

Two documents, straight from the show file

Both print with your show credits in the header, the date, and the count — so the copy on the wall says what it is and when it was run off.

Filtered per operator

Choose Both, or a single operator. Cues with no moves for that person don't appear on their sheet at all.

Act and scene bands

Dividers print as act bands so the sheet reads in the same order as the running order.

Ink-friendly colour

Colour tags print as light tints rather than the darker on-screen treatment — paper doesn't glare, so it doesn't need dimming.

Credits in the header

Director, designer, head mechanist, mechanists, fly supervisors, fly operator, automation operator, venue, location, dates and company — whichever you fill in.
